This painting is an exploration of different states of freedom and constraint in the world and the relationships between them.  Every year during the Passover Seder, we recount an epic narrative of the journey from slavery to freedom, observing that while we recline around the table, celebrating our own freedom, others all over the world are still enslaved. Each year we ask, "Can anyone truly be free, when others are imprisoned?"
